Job Summary
James River Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Intern for the Summer of 2024. This will be a 9-week remote internship, generally early June to early August. Opportunities are available in our Excess Casualty underwriting division.
As a James River Insurance Intern, you will be given the opportunity to learn from some of the best commercial insurance professionals in the country within a small team setting. As part of the team, you will gain exposure to and experience with insurance processes through mentorship, projects, job shadowing, technical developmental trainings, and professional development sessions. Interns will have the opportunity to gain a broader view and understanding of Excess & Surplus insurance. This is a paid internship.
Our Interns learn to calculate premiums and determine proper terms for acceptable risks as well as review and analyze underwriting data to determine if risks meet corporate underwriting standards.
