Are you a "night" person? We pay an additional $2/hour for Paramedics working shifts starting at 1600 and later!

Summary of the Role:

The Paramedic's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to calls, and providing care to patients in transit to medical facilities. ABC Ambulance is certified as a Ground Ambulance Provider by the Arizona Department of Health Services to serve Maricopa County.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Qualities for a Paramedic:

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal field staff and external customers
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor
  • Administer basic life support to patients
  • Communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities
  • Demonstrate familiarity with company service areas and medical facilities
  • Demonstrate compliance with all Company and customer policies and procedures as they pertain to the coordination of patient care/transport
  • Must possess the ability to efficiently multi-task and work independently as well as within a team
  • Demonstrate the ability to professionally "control" difficult interactions and effectively direct the flow of the conversation
  • Operate ambulances safely and abide by all laws
  • Monitor all equipment and provide updates to dispatch
  • The ability to remain extremely focused in a sometimes turbulent/chaotic environment
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance of vehicles, equipment, and person
  • Assist with providing information for investigations of incidents as required
  • Punctual attendance with scheduled hours
  • Ability to maintain confidential information in a manner consistent with applicable laws including but not limited to HIPPA
  • Document accurate details and information in patient reporting system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:

  • High school graduate
  • Valid AZ Driver's License
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with ABC Ambulance's Driving Policy
  • Current state Paramedic certification
  • Current CPR pro certification card
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • The ability to multitask
  • Understand basic math
  • Proficient with PC's, mobile technology, and computer software and applications
  • Polite and professional
  • Ability to utilize time/resources well
  • Reliability and Teamwork a must
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
  • Safety conscious
  • Frequent ability to lift, carry, push, and pull greater than 100 pounds without assistance
  • Intermittent climbing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling
  • Moderate exposure to weather, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, noise intensity level, darkness/poor lighting, confined spaced, dirt/dust, odors, and other environmental conditions

Schedules:

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Opportunities to work additional 8- or 10-hour shifts.
  • Opportunities to "trade up" to a more desirable schedule throughout the year based on seniority and attendance.
  • Paramedics working shifts starting at 1600 and later receive an extra $2/hr. on regular time and $3/hr. on overtime.
