SUMMARY: The Senior Buyer will be directly responsible for the sourcing and procurement of aerospace parts, components, and LRU's, including responsibility over the Supply Chain health of related categories. Partners with suppliers and analyzes suppliers based on factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects and/or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, verifies, and expedites delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. Prepares bid packages.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating Purchase Orders in ERP system for vendors, ensuring proper information flow into PowerBI. Continuous follow up on open orders for accuracy and need.
  • Delivers on savings and inventory requirements as per the commodity and business strategies.
  • Confirm Purchase Order acknowledgments and verify accuracy of PO details; Work cross-functionally and with suppliers on payment issue resolution.
  • Resolve supplier discrepancies (quantities, paperwork and other) by closely working with the Operations/QA department.
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
  • Manage negotiations with vendors on prices, contracts, and conditions.
  • Leads aspects of strategic sourcing, which may include, Statement of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation, proposal evaluation, price/cost analysis, contract negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.
  • Prepares purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
  • Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders.
  • Oversees and/or conducts supplier site visits as necessary.
  • Assist with ERP system optimization, to produce the appropriate inputs into PowerBI.
  • Work closely with Sales department on customer requests and requirements to determine investment strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field of study.
    • 5 years of relevant/technical work experience OR
    • An additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
    • Proficient in MS Office suite, strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft PowerBI or another BI tool
    • Proficient critical thinking and analytical skills
    • Professional / interpersonal verbal & written communication skills
    • Polished, professional presence with exemplary communication skills
    • Advanced negotiation skills
    • Effective time management, able to identify and prioritize tasks necessary to meet long and short-term objectives.
    • Statistical Analysis and Modeling
    • Team oriented, resourceful, and fast learner.


      PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

    • Master's degree
    • Knowledge of Component Control Quantum
    • 7-8 years of relevant/technical work experience OR
    • Expertise in PowerBI or another related Business Intelligence tool
    • CPM, APICS, CPIM
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Excellent presentation skills. Capable of selling new ideas to internal and external stakeholders

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
