Job Description

  • Execute panel production schedule set out by the Panel Shop Production Manager to meet overall company production goals.
  • Train, develop and direct the activities of a small team of panel shop employees.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills, team building skills and the ability to supervise and motivate effectively.
  • Develop working relationships with fellow stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  • Host a morning meeting with crew at start of shift to delegate work for the day.
  • Read and interrupt electrical and manufacturing drawings to fully understand the scope of work to be completed.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Understand sequence of operation.
  • Become familiar with equipment being installed.
  • Set goals and manage time efficiently.
  • Manage inventory of material and consumables to prevent sudden shortages which an affect work schedule and productivity.
  • Initiate ECR's and NCR's when applicable.
  • Completing required paperwork and maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Review any job-related issues or safety concerns.
  • Ensure workers adhere to company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure workers are wearing proper PPE and working in a safe manner.
  • Ensure workers have proper material and tools to complete daily tasks.
  • Ensure workers are following scheduled break times.
  • Assist with disciplinary action required as per company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the highest quality product as per the Silent-Aire Quality Standards.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to lead a small team of employees to achieve set production goals.
  • Able to teach and mentor other members of the team.
  • Ability to read and interrupt electrical schematic and manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and processes.
  • Previous leadership experience considered asset.
  • First Aid certificates are considered assets.

Working Conditions

  • Both Industrial/Commercial indoor environments.
  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
