How You Will Contribute:

Job Duties: Deliver customer and internal training on all Ciena products and solutions. Duties include: deliver technical training on a wide variety of Ciena's proprietary products and technologies, including DWDM, SONET, OTN, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS-TP, IP and Submarine Networks as well Network Management System, assist in assessing company-wide training needs and establish programs to provide ongoing delivery of new and existing technical training methods to Ciena's customers and internal personnel; work directly with customers and partners to answer product functionality questions, as well as teach network specific applications and details of product operation and fault finding; assist training development teams in creating new content and to cross-train new instructors; identify needs and provide support and direction on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ciena's training systems; and, evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and content validation for on-going lifecycle maintenance.

May telecommute from anywhere in the United States.

The Must Haves:

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Technical Training Engineering- related occupation, including experience in:

  • Operating, administrating, and configuring DWDM, SONET and OTN Networks;

  • Submarine Line Terminal Equipment operation, configuration, and provisioning;

  • Operating, administrating, configuring, and provisioning Carrier Ethernet, MPLS-TP and IP Networks;

  • Linux and Unix based systems, SDN and Network Management Systems operation;

  • Performing project design of DWDM, SONET, OTN, and MPLS-TP Networks;

  • Designing, implementing, and leading technical training courses; and

  • Creating technical process documents and materials.

Beneficiary will accept a three or four year Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent.
