The Director of Engagement coordinates all aspects of Engagement for AL, IL and Connections residents including evaluation of residents upon admission and development of personalized plan or program for successful aging in the community. Ensures residents' satisfaction and achievement of their realistic goals. Motivates residents to function at the highest level of independence. Responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling of Life Enrichment Partners, Connection Care Partners, and designated direct care staff.

Highlights of the Director of Engagement Position:

  • An associate degree in nursing, health care management, or a related field; or a bachelor's degree.
  • At least 1 year experience with geriatrics & or dementia care
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner or eligible for certification.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all programming, activities and staffing aspects of the Engagement Program and Activities at the community while adhering to state policies governing resident care. Works collaboratively with the DON/HWD in the creation and presentation of the quarterly wellness plans for AL and Connections with respect to life enhancing programs and activities, which may include transportation to outside events or activities.
  • Coordinates all aspects of life engagement for residents including interviewing residents upon admission and development of engagement plans and programming strategies * Coordinate with other department directors to ensure continuity of the resident's total regimen of care.
  • Create, maintain, and execute monthly programming and activities for all residents, including strategies for integrating Connections neuroplasticity programming across all product lines. * Responsible for training staff on programming expectations to ensure consistent execution across IL, AL, and Connections areas.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises and disciplines designated care partners, LEPs, MCCs and engagement support staff.
