The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work
schedule for this position is will be determined by the needs of the department.

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2025 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Job Summary

Involved and assists with numerous projects and performs varied analyses, reconcilliations, budget development, grant monitoring and planning for KJZZ/KBAQ/Sun Sounds of Arizona. Involved with Sun Sounds Foundation and assists with Friends of Public Radio Arizona (FPRAZ).

Essential Functions

60% - Responsible for financial tracking and analyses of current year spending and revenues; Meets monthly with Sun Sounds Director to monitor and advise on budgets; Prepares cost transfers as needed; Works with staff and volunteer leadership to develop and track revenue, expenditures and the budget of the 501(c)(3) support group: Sun Sounds Foundation. Assists with preparing projected varied revenues and expenditures for the annual budget(s); Prepares requisition requests and sends out purchase orders to managers; Works with station staff and managers confirming invoices are approved for payment processing; Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies; Works with staff to ensure that asset tags are issued and confirms that items are received in the financial system; Prepares analytical schedules and reports for the Sun Sounds Director for use in making budget recommendations; Assists in the preparation of budgets for proposal submission to private and government funding sources; Assists with the tracking, monitoring, and prepares reports for grant funded projects for publishing and presentation to Government funding agencies and private foundations
30% - Responsible for weekly accounting of FPRAZ and Sun Sounds contributions, Sun Sounds budget tracking; assists with FPRAZ and Sun Sounds events and activities; Attends Sun Sounds Foundations Board of Directors meetings; Participates in budget and finance committee meetings; Assists with the annually issuing of W-9's to vendors and 1099's and 1096 to the IRS before deadlines
10% - Prepares monthly presentations to staff to demonstrate revenue and expenditure trends and forecasts; explains significant variances from budget; and prepares detailed presentations to college leadership team, senior station management team, and associated foundation boards. Performs other duties as assigned and works on special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in finance, accounting or directly related field and four years of experience providing advanced professional financial analysis and support for assigned function of finance, payroll or budgeting related to area of assignment.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience in financial budgeting for non-profit or public radio or television stations
B. Experience with diverse accounting softwares
C. Experience with Grants Accounting
D. Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
E. Experience in Accounting or Finance of at least four years
F. Experience in preparing financial statements of at least three years

Special Working Conditions

May require some weekend or evening hours.
