Hill International is seeking a Project Controls Specialist in Phoenix, Arizona


  • Assists with the development and implementation of department goals, and long-range strategies.
  • Works withing department operations procedures including developing, monitoring, and adhering to policies.
  • Oversees the preparation of program dashboards, progress cost reporting and data integrity.
  • Prepares and presents reports to senior management.
  • Reviews budget requests, project estimates and reviews project expenses.
  • Performs complex project expenditures, budget review, and forecasts cost at completion.
  • Performs special projects such as comprehensive payment applications, cost allocation, applications of funds, and complex confidential reports as assigned.
  • Maintains, supports, and promotes a safe work environment while complying with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, and properly filed in the proper project management tools.
  • Track expenditures and reconcile invoices or similar financial duties and tracks sub consultant agreements/insurance/bonds as required.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in project controls.
  • Four-year college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Experience performing budgetary, administrative, and cost reporting.
  • Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of public administration, management, organization, budgeting and financial administration, personnel administration, grants administration, and cost accounting.
  • Experience in cost controls, and exposure to scheduling and estimating.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in providing project management support and assistance on construction projects.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Time management and leadership skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to details and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple and conflicting work priorities.
  • Follow up on assignments to determine progress and date of completion.
