Job Description:

Microchip Technology is looking for a Technical Learning Engineer to join our team! The Global Organizational Learning & Development department works to sustain Microchip's unique culture while continuously improving employee engagement and organizational performance.

Your role will be important in enhancing the technical capacity of Microchip's global organization through sustained application of best practices in engineering and related disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of experience coordinating and delivering technical training to employees in a corporate setting. Your industry experience in a technical discipline will enable you to better understand the learning needs of engineers in a variety of roles.

Primary objectives of this role are as follows:

  • Support the design, development, and implementation of learning programs for Microchip Technology's technical employees, with a focus on our engineering population.
  • Deliver and facilitate established training content to both in-person and to virtual audiences.
  • Manage attendance, course records and individual employee training records with our Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Partner with both internal SMEs and external vendors to identify, curate, and customize content for specific audiences.
  • Publish and promote learning programs facilitated by other technical professionals at Microchip.
  • Create and manage internal learning-related communications.
  • Manage technical learning programs and systems.
  • Effectively utilize project management skills in managing multiple projects and conflicting priorities.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in progressive training roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, education or relevant field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated implementation of learning and development methodologies.
  • Comfortable working in a complex, rapidly changing environment.
  • Can collaborate and execute adeptly in a matrixed organization.
  • Flexibility of hours to support shift workers and overseas employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work with a wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of providing direct guidance to organizational stakeholders (e.g., leaders and employees) seeking expert advice.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a High-Tech Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
  • Proficient in SharePoint Online.
  • Knowledge of evaluation techniques for continuous improvement.
  • General understanding of the business and the industry.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Understanding of learning and development methodologies.
