Job Summary

Phoenix College (PC) is seeking a Student Services Specialist Senior to join our team in the Testing and Assessment Department. This position is responsible for coordinating daily activities, managing office workflow, assisting in the development and implementation of testing processes to maintain compliance and enhance customer service. Additionally, this role provides training and support to staff members, serves as a liaison for program stakeholders, and is responsible for handling moderately complex issues requiring strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Essential Functions

40% - Collaborate closely with the Supervisor to plan and implement assessment processes and practices; Assist in developing training materials to ensure seamless test administration, aligning with campus policies, and federal and state regulations; Assess the efficiency of training methods and offer recommendations for continuous improvement; Provide training, guidance, and support to staff members; Manage staffing schedules to maximize coverage during peak testing periods; Supervise part-time employees

35% - Oversee the execution of EdReady, Accuplacer, CELSA, HESI, Instructor, GED, and other exams as determined by departmental demands; Maintain meticulous records and utilize various testing tools and applications for scheduling and tracking testing activities; Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all activities in Testing Services. Promptly address any issues or discrepancies that arise. Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot problems as needed. Collaborate with both internal and external partners to ensure efficient delivery of support services

15% - Compile and prepare data for the Supervisor as needed. Engage in campus initiatives and offer off-campus testing assistance when required

10% - Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs

OR

High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs

Desired Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  2. Two (2) or more years of experience administering standardized or academic exams in higher education settings, including scheduling, proctoring, and ensuring compliance with testing protocols (e.g., Accuplacer, Edready, Elsevier Evolve, etc.)
  3. Two (2) or more years of experience in a team lead and/or supervisory role of a team of four (4) or more members
  4. Two (2) or more years of experience in a higher education setting using Student Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner)
  5. Two (2) or more years of experience in higher education working in a customer service environment utilizing Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office
  6. Please detail your understanding of the Phoenix College learning philosophy and principles, and include them in your cover letter
  7. Two (2) or more years of experience administering Pearson VUE GED exams
  8. Strong written communication skills as demonstrated in the resume and cover letter
