Overview

ABI is looking for a clerical savvy person seeking an entry level position, if this describes you then our Clerical Support Specialist role onsite in our Bethpage, NY office. is the job for you!

Your responsibilites will be to establish rapport and ongoing communication to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all processes which affect the completion of a client's order.

This role is a full time positon, ONSITE, with a standard work schedule Monday-Friday, (standard hours) with some overtime on an as-needed basis. We are setting up interviews with flexible interview times and we are hiring immediately.

The pay for this position is $16.00 - 17.00/hr.

Responsibilities
    Open and distribute incoming correspondence to the appropriate person or department.
  • Process and research returned correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain communication with departments to determine time constraints on special instruction orders.
  • Update facility database as new information is received.
  • Route work orders to appropriate departments in a timely manner, as defined by office procedure
  • Issue payment for incoming invoices for records
  • Provide quality control for all incoming records when matching to a work order. (i.e. record subject identifying information and type of records requested vs. what was received)
  • Enter viewable and non-viewable updates into the ABI computer system to document all conversations with custodians, all progress of orders, and all tracking of orders. (documented due diligence)

  • Assist with clerical duties such as mail/fax or e-mail when needed
  • Assist in preparation of documentation for scanning
  • Status all completed work to delivery shelf or to mail
  • Sort and package all deliveries.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate and/or GED equivalent. Some college desirable but not required.
  • Prior work experience in an office setting preferably in a medical, legal, or an insurance claims office.
  • Proficiency at typing; preferred level of at least 45 wpm.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good telephone etiquette, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking a plus.
